Discovering a passion

My name is Eloi Ryelandt and I forge and make knives by hand in the Charleroi region (Belgium).

In 2019, as part of my studies in agronomy, I did an internship for several months on a Spanish farm. It was there that Jaco and Iñigo, 2 blacksmiths from "la Junquera", introduced me to blacksmithing. During the long winter evenings on the Granada Altiplano, I learnt the basics of the trade and made my first knife.

Making a knife is a mixture of rough hammer work, which you might think of as crude, and precision and technical work to produce an aesthetic, high-performance product.

Back to the roots

Back in Belgium after a few years spent abroad, and with my head full of ideas, I had to find a workshop, tools and knowledge.

Fortunately, my home region has a rich industrial past and exceptional people.

It's been 4 years since my first knife, and I still enjoy forging and creating my knives as much as I did on the first day, constantly striving to improve the end product. My aim is to create tools that are as durable, efficient and aesthetically pleasing as possible.

If you're looking for a quality knife, I suggest you take a look at my available knives.
